TELECOM Bretagne has chosen Moodle as its distance-learning platform tool from several open source solutions for graduate programs, life-long learning programs, new engineering training courses and its active pedagogical projects.
The contribution of TELECOM Bretagne to the dynamics around Moodle : TELECOM Bretagne organized each year the French-language MoodleMoot conference in June, the first one was in june 2005. Moodle is an e-learning open source platform, enabling a learner community to be created around pedagogical content.
Moodle is an distance learning platform LMS (Learning Management System) i.e. a software designed for training staff wanting to create online training courses.
These e-learning systems are also called open distance-learning systems (FOAD). A more academic name for them is "mediatized learning environment".
