OASIF ("Outil d'Aide à la Scénarisation pour l'Ingénierie de la FOAD" or Scripting assistance tool for open distance learning engineering)
Project leaders : TELECOM ParisTech, TELECOM & Management SudParis, CNERTA
The OASIF tool results from the DIF (Innovative training system) research-experimentation project launched in 1999 (see section on Research & Experimentation Innovative training system). Its current usages have been assessed, providing feedback to the research project.

Objective
OASIF is a support tool for the "design - organization" of open distance-learning systems, with two strong features:
Prospects
This tool, initially designed in 2001, is a concrete application of the département Innovation Pédagogique de TELECOM ParisTech initiative to "Design and specify a chain of tools dedicated to open distance-learning system engineering (DFOAD)".
Based on an analysis of existing usages, a new version of the OASIF tool has been worked on, in collaboration with TELECOM & Management SudParis et le CNERTA (Centre Nationale d'Etude et de Ressources en Technologies Avancées or National Center for Advanced Technology Studies and Resources ) in order to offer a version (in freeware form) focusing on collaboration and decision-making support in early 2006.
Lastly, the OASIF tool has been reconstructed, in order to be linked with several open distance-learning program platforms, including the AMARANTE platform.
