Innovative training system : IniTux

Project leader : TELECOM & Management SudParis

This is a full-scale mixed innovative teaching experiment (alternation of in-class and distance pedagogical activities), conducted at the start of the 2003 academic year.

Armed with a set of experiments in ICTT and their assessments, a group of professors wanted to apply this feedback by setting up an innovative pedagogical system.

This system and its assessment apply to teaching of the GNU/LINUX operating system for first-year engineering students at TELECOM SudParis.

The basic concepts of the system are well known, but certainly not yet sufficiently applied:

  • autonomy of the learner
  • collaborative work
  • improvement with individual follow-up
  • available but distant professors.

Feedback from assessment of this model shows that it is viable and can be implemented in other disciplines.

The first module to which this system was applied has a support that you will find in the Open Course Ware :

The pedagogical innovation was presented in the form of a poster at the ED-MEDIA 2005 international congress in Montreal (Canada).
